Water Auditing Services

The purpose of our water auditing services is to educate our customers about the wise use of water and to make their homes and businesses as water efficient as possible.

A water audit consists of a review of all plumbing fixtures and appliances in your home.  An audit could help determine if it would make sense to upgrade or replace all or some of these fixtures. Approximately 70% of water used at home is used indoors.  Most homes built in the early 1990’s and before were installed with plumbing fixtures that are considered water hogs.  By upgrading these fixtures you can reduce your consumption by as much as 50%.

By examining your water meter we can determine if you have any leaks.  A leaking toilet can waste nearly 200 gallons of water a day. A dripping faucet can waste up to 3,000 gallons of water a year.

We will provide you with a comprehensive evaluation of your irrigation system to see if you are using irrigation water in the most efficient manner.  Our inspection will include checking for broken sprinkler heads, pipes, or irrigation valve leaks.  We will program your irrigation controller to water only on assigned watering days.  We will check to see that you have a properly located and functional rain sensor.

Over the last few years I have been noticing that my water bill was progressively more expensive.  I was very concerned and spoke to friends and family members about it.  On more than one occasion the name Nolan was suggested as someone to call.

The technician came out when he said he would and proceeded to make an assessment of my situation.  He started indoors and pointed out several areas of concern.  My toilets were built in the 70’s and there where aerators missing from the faucets.  I also had the old 3 handle tub and shower valves.

Next we went outdoors.  My sprinkler system and house were running on the same water meter.  I was being billed for sewage every time I watered the lawn. There were also areas of my yard that were getting triple coverage and some areas not getting water at all.
